Immigration may suspect that I need the Visa stamped in so that I can get an interview and change my status to something more long term or permanent and are bound to ask me, so

What is a good enough reason for me to do a return trip on the same day to another country should the immigration query this?

Would it be better to go out one day and come back the next day to avoid the suspicion of the immigration.

What is a legitimate reason Why a foreigner (american) would spend 200 pounds to take these steps to ensure their Passport has a 6 month Visa? is this reasonable?
