    Yes it is a good idea, as you will learn a great deal and you will meet many interesting people.

    I suggest you look at other options before you make your final decision, in order to determine which suites your personality best.

    You should look into MASA: it enables young Jews from all over the world to spend a semester to a year in Israel on any of over 160 programs.
