I live in england I am 21, my only experience in the job field is retail,I am wanting to move to Seattle?

Secrets2be_told asked:

How will I be able to get a job out there/green card?

I am so sick of england. I need a new start.

I visited Seattle last September and it blew me away.

You need to apply for a Visa that way you can live in the country for years (depending on how long you extend it). After that, if you decide you want to stay in America, then apply to become a resident. Hope that helps, I love it here too!

    Your best bets are either

    1) marry a guy from Seattle, or
    2) get an education and work experience

a single 21 year old with no experience in a specialized field has about the same odds of getting a green card as a Chinese rice farmer.

I just answered 2 similar questions in the last hour. what you want is almost impossible. You need to know the truth…so you can look at other options…like E.U. countries or coming to the U.S. on a student visa. The ONLY way to get a green card is to immigrate…and under the best of circumstances, it takes years. Immigrating to the U.S. is THE most difficult thing to do on earth. Immigration to any country is difficult. Immigration to the U.S. is nearly impossible…especially for U.K. citizens.
See 1st site below to see that if you do not have an immediate family member to sponsor you…you have next to no chance. The other common way is through the Diversity Lottery Program, which gives a very slight chance and takes years. U.K. citizens are not eligible for this. See 2nd site. Dozens of young people in the U.K. write in here every week hoping to do the same thing your best opportunity to spend time in the U.S., would be a student visa. This means you must have a lot of money saved up, get accepted at a university , and apply for and get a student visa. See 3rd site. many American young people want to move to the U.K….almost always to London! Everyone wants to be someplace else. It is nearly impossible for them to do this also. None of this means you cannot dream big…travel, study or work abroad…it just means you need to look around and see that there are other opportunities. The entire E.U. is open to you.

first you have to apply for a workers visa that may take some time as we only allow so many workers from each country a year here or they would take all of our jobs and our people here wouldn’t have any?

if you have your work visa you can apply for jobs now online. Downtown nordstrom store would be a greta retail job for you to work. you can apply online at. macy’s also has a downtown store and you can apply on their website as well. Pacific Place is the name of the mall next door to the downtown Nordstrom so I would look them up online and make applications to the stores there as well. good luck!
