What a nightmare! Another travel firm has hit the skids right out of the blue! This latest casualty is that of leading holiday company Freedom Direct and once again many people find themselves out of pocket and out of work.
The firm was forced out of business on account of its financial records (or so they say) and at least was ATOL registered and able to provide refunds. The couple featured in the article “More holiday nightmares as another company collapses” booked through a third party on Teletext and are now uncertain as to whether or not they will see their money again. Is there no end to the holiday nightmares people have to experience before we get it right?
While Freedom Direct hope to be able to refund two thousand six hundred bookings and do a deal with other holiday companies to take on the bookings, what lies in store for people like the Watts? Although I am sure the couple would much rather they had their holiday in Turkey, hopefully a refund from their credit card company awaits them on the horizon.
