If your going to do it for a year,it will cost you.all depends if you are gonna stay in hotels or what will make a big difference and are you driving or going by buss or what to do to get around.you could spend any where from 20 to 50 thousand easy or even higher depending on where you stay and how you are gonna get from point A to B around the country. Depends a lot on how you’re travelling, where you’re staying, what you’ll be eating.
Hostels are now around $20 per night, a 60 day Greyhound Bus pass is $750 (OUCH! – that’s gone up 50% since I had one 4 years ago!), you’ll probably need $20 for food and laundry and things.
So, what’s that? $40 x 300 is $12,000, plus transport, and you won’t get much change from £10,000 for the trip. You can do it cheaper, of course, if you sleep on someone’s floor, don’t move about too much, and don’t wash very often!
