I don’t know a great deal about Glasgow but the SEC is always worth a visit. Speaking personally, if I was in Glasgow for a couple of days I’d be very tempted to nip down to Buchanan Street and get on the first bus out of there – take a Citylinking bus to Kyle or Fort William or take the train to Ft Wm – it pases through incredible scenery. If you don’t want to go that far then just head north a little way to Loch Lomond or the Trossachs.
The gorbles or merry hill. make sure you wear your rangers shirt.
You have to go have tea in the Willow Tea Room. We enjoyed it.
We stayed at the Hyatt and ate there one night, and then a variety of places close by. We went to a convention in Glasgow.
Let’s make sure you also get a relevant answer, as opposed to getting your head kicked in or escaping on the first bus…

Museum
Burrell Collection and Pollok House on the Pollok Estate,
St Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art from where you can also take in the Necropolis and the cathedral,
House for an Art Lover,
The Lighthouse for Architecture/Design.
Other
Barras market on the weekend, Oran Mor and the Botanic Gardens in the West End, take the train to Helensburgh for a nice view and Mackintosh’s Hill House or to Balloch for Loch Lomond – although I’ve also cycled it and it’s a nice trip on a sunny day. For shopping there’s Sauchiehall Street, Buchanan Galleries, St. Enochs, Buchanan Street, Argyle Street etc.

Babbity Bowster, Merchant City – should be interesting to see how it’s changed with the Scottish smoking ban…
Stravaigin Cafe on Gibson Street
I haven’t tried but am very curious about The Two Sisters in Jordanhill and Barbarossa on Clarkston Road.
To Party
West End – for indie, try Glasgow Uni’s Queen Margaret Union or one of the various student bars (around Ashton Lane, Great Western Road, Byres Road).
City Centre – around Sauchiehall Street, Bath Street. If you’re going to a pub before clubbing, look out for flyers detailing what’s on that night – the Art School can have great nights.

Oasis were signed here, first Scottish gigs for Beck, The Strokes
Nice n’ Sleazy
Studenty bar with relaxed attitude and punk, folk, new wave music – also live music, open mike.
Cathouse
club, alternative music. Also live gigs.
Horse Shoe Bar
Traditional pub with actual Glaswegians (as opposed to students and BBC staff), it’s supposed to have the longest bar in the world – all I know is that the karaoke competition is impressive and I promise to never ever again go there on a hen night and drunkely sing Abba songs -oh, and the drummer from Travis used to work there.
try the Art School for a night out, very indie also you could try barfly or 13th note these are all good nights out, also go down the west end and go to ashton lane you will find lots of nice wee bars and restraunts . have a good time and watch out for the neds.
just realised ive written a lot of the same places as the last answerer, that means a double reccomendation so go forth and enjoy.
1) and only place to go is Ibrox, if you have enough time 2)The Buchanon Gallerys for shops, 3) Sauchihall Street has a lot of pubs, 4) Tiger Tiger for nightclub and 5) the chippy at end of the night for a Kebab (pizza – whatever)
