Im planning to travel in the far east (Thailand and Australia). I would like to wear stylish shoes/sandals that look good as well in its comfort and durability!

They have some really fashionable nike sneakers out there. Or you could wear some mary-jane style hiking shoes.

I’ll just bet you have done NEITHER TRAVELLING or BACKPACKING or you would know you go for COMFORT FIRST.. if it happens to be fashionable.. that’s just a plus.. but if your feet aren’t comfortable.. you will be miserable, no matter how pretty your shoes are.

your asking for one combined shoe for what you need, there isn’t one. for backpacking it is best to use a comfortable boot. for traveling around town, a walking sneak or shoe, being stylish may not be the best route to go more than dependability and comfort. Go to real shoe store rather than kmart , walmart and ask the clerk what your requirements are, then go to the other mentioned stores to see if you can find it cheaper.

Do you really want to look great in the middle of nowhere and you have to cross a river. How cool would you feel if your feet are bleeding and you have massive blisters. Get yourself a good pair of hiking boots. Wear them a few times B4 you go to make sure they are comfortable and don’t give you blisters. Have a great trip.

I have a pair of Skechers that are light and extremely comfortable. I put a gel insert into the bottom when I go backpacking, which makes them even nicer for lots of walking. You can find the inserts at shoe and hiking stores. The Skechers look similar to these:

If you plan to spend a lot of time outdoors (nature rather than cities), these are great. They’re actually really comfortable, but I wouldn’t call them stylish.. bizarre, maybe.

When I travel in Thailand I use flip flops, as do most other people. Backpacking is another thing. There are many shops there that have the exact equipment needed at a much reduced price than to buy them before you go. Practical things for beaches, warm weather, hiking usually requires boots of some sort. Again buy them there. Much cheaper.
