Travelling to New Zealand and Dubai on a South African passport?

cakes4africa asked:

Can I just jump on a plane and fly to New Zealand or Australia, then do a quick stopover visit in Dubai for a few days without having to worry about visas?
Lise, I was hoping that I would get a reply from him/her, because I am trying to figure out how her alter ego supposedly travelled there.

What country you from; if that was U.S. should be okay but i think is 30 days for the limit visit more than that you had get like a travel visa, just let you know dubai is very strict and tight up security in the airport; like no medical drug of anykind.

All the three countries require visas upon your landing. However, Dubai allows you to go around for a day or two if UAE does not have their Embassy/Consulate in your country. However, if you are from USA/UK then travel to Australia/NZ is easier and they may even grant you visas on arrival in their respective countries at the Port of Entry.

Depends on how long is a few days. S. African citizens have to have a visa to enter the UAE.

    Transit Visas
This type of visa is a 4-day (96 hour) visa, which is issued by sponsorship of an airline operating in the United Arab Emirates. A transit visa can only be issued if a visitor has a valid ticket for an onward flight and the issuing of transit visas are normally free of cost.

    Other Visit Visas
There are two other types of visit visas issued by the UAE government. The first is a 14-day visa, also known as an Entry Service Permit. This visa must be sponsored by a United Arab Emirates company or hotel and will normally take 2-3 days to issue. The second is a Multiple Entry Visa, which is useful for individuals who are continously visiting the UAE. This visa has special privileges for visitors from Germany and the United States. More information and requirements about these two visas can be found to your right.

Check with your airline as well. Also, your passport must be valid for at least another 6 months on entry to the UAE.

I don’t think you need a visa for a short trip to Commonwealth nations, Dubai YES you do. You may be allowed to get a short stay or holiday visa for a few days.

If you are a S.A. citizen you do not need a visa for N.Z.
Planning to visit family in N.Z. and was told you do not need a visa if you plan to stay less than 3 months. There are other requirements and should be adhere to.
Sorry but do not know the requirements for Dubai.

If you are a SA passport holder you do not need a visa for NZ.

However you will to Australia, they are very strict with South Africans. You’ll need a full itinerary; a letter from your employer and possibly have go through an interview before getting your visa. (Too many South Africans are entering AU and not leaving.)

I know of people who have travelled through Dubai and I’m pretty sure they didn’t need a visa. They just complained that it makes the trip VERY long. Its best to enquire at the travel agent about requirements for Dubai.
