Do you think I should take a gap year after my A levels before going to Uni?

Fredal asked:

I’m currently doing my AS, next year when I do my A2s, I want to finish than take a gap year where I’ll maybe work or travel, or enjoy my youth, before going to Uni, what do you think? I want to, what are the disadvantages?

Do it, avoid the real world as long as possible. You’ll never have the chance again.

Get stuck into work. Make money, buy car, buy house, get wife, make many babies, work, work , work. No don`t take gap year, you will never regret it.

Depends on how good you are at studying.
Many students do well at school, take a gap year and find it difficult, sometimes impossible, to get back into the rhythm of studying again.

If you think there is the slightest danger of that happening then take your gap after uni.

Yeah, but use it wisely like save up money or get some work experience. Although i did read on the times website that universities don’t like students taking gap years, particularly if they are studying maths as it is a natural talent and they think taking a year off can make you forget what you’ve learnt.
