You will love Perth and I’m sure your daughter will have all the great ideas and places to show you around the lovely city of Perth with its glorious beaches , the River and Parks . When in Melbourne if your not hiring a car then try and do a Great Ocean Road trip. Sydney has some wonderful sights the harbour with its Bridge the Opera house Darling Harbour and the Rocks areas will keep you busy for a couple of days or more. Take the river cat up to Parramatta. and the ferry over to Manley and if you have time then a trip to The well known Bondi beach. The weather should be glorious the big heat should’ve gone but still summer clothes with a light jacket . Have a great trip

There is lots do in Perth.

Most tourists do the river cruises they normally go from Perth to Freemantle but you can also do river cruises that go along the swan river and through the swan valley.

You can also take a boat ride to Rottenest (they have the best bakery here) and hire bikes and ride around the island or take a tour of all the areas and see the tunnels and gunnery locations.

There are self drive tours that can be done through the swan valley as well. The swan valley is the major area for wine and there are many little wineries and restaurants here.

Then there is perth city itself, where you can go shopping enjoy a meal or movie, here is where the museum and art gallery are located if you like these kind of things.

while in the city you can also visit the bell tower and the foreshore, as for night life the city is normally closed by about 5pm except for friday nights when most things stay open until 9pm. You could always go to Northbridge for a meal but this area can get quite rough as it is where most of the night clubs are.

then there is Kings Park Botanical gardens which you can walk / drive through here you can go on picnics or enjoy a meal at Frasier’s restaurant or at the tea house, you can also climb the DNA tower and look out over the river through binoculars. You can also visit the whispering wall and the war memorial although this is normally locked so you can not see all the names.

Freemantle has the markets and the Freemantle prison where you can take a tour during the day or go on a night time tour they also have tours of the underwater tunnels but you have to be able to swim just in case. There is also a really nice cafe strip at Freemantle or Freo as the locals call it.

Burswood casino is also a great place to go not just for gambling, you can walk along the river and have picnics here and there is tourist info centre where you can go on a guided walk and they show you all about the park and the history and the bird life.

if you go further out of the city you have the beaches like cottesloe and Hillary’s and Mindarie keys. cottesloe has a really nice tea house called the Indiana tea house and at mindarie and Hillary’s there are marinas with board walks and specialty shops.

if you go further north and head up wanneroo road you can go to places like the leaning tower of gingign which is science display it is hands on and they have guided tours that tell you what things are about and you can climb the leaning tower and go on bush walks they do have cafe here (it is rather expensive though), if you keep going along wanneroo Road you will come to a little community called guilderton / Moore river here you can take a boat cruise, go swimming, fishing, or just enjoy a cup of coffee and whatever at the local cafe. further north there is kalbarri , monkey myer, the pinnacles and other tourist attraction most all natural ones. Before you get to all these place there is also the wanneroo markets and Yanchep national park where you can have picnic and see kangaroos and koalas and they caves here as well. this costs $AU10 to enter the park and then if you just wander around the park grounds it costs you nothing but they do have indigenous tours and koala talks and the caves cost money as well, there is a really nice tavern here and a information centre and gift shop.and accomodation as well.

then you could go south and go to places like Yarloop and see the steam museum and on certain days they have the steam engines running. Busselton has the jetty , Margaret River is known for its surfing, chocolate factory and wine, Harvey has good wine, and the cheese factory.

the best thing to so is when you get here and have settled in is to go into the city and go to the tourist information centre located just opposite the railway station on wellington street in forrest chase and ask them about the best things to see and do.

By the time you finish your holiday you will nearly be over your jet-lag.

Anyway, if you’re too stuffed while in WA you can hibernate in Rosie O’Gradys **** on some of that Guinness.
