Tower of London. Rich in history and display of Crown Jewels
the Victoria albert is a great museum- so much to see- plan to literally spend a whole afternoon there
The Tower of London/Tower Bridge
Houses of Parliament/big ben/west minister abbey are all very close to each other
Trafalgar Square is my favorite place in London
London also has great parks- st james and regents are quite lovely
There is so much to do and see- I have visited 6 times and still not seen everything-Enjoy London!
I would check most of these out if I could fit them in!

i adore london. i have tried to advise others on this and these are the top attractions everyone will tell you…
1. westminster abbey
2. big ben
3. tower of london
4. picadilly circus
5. brittish museum
TOP attractions people do not usually go to
1. OXFORD
2. the orangery in kensington palace for tea (beautiful and very nice on an afternoon)
3. madame tussauds
4. london eye
these three are greatly recommended in addition to the tower of london
time for each:
oxford- we did it in 6 hours. which is a lot. from paddington station it was about an hour train ride. we did have lunch there though. i recommend the bus tour which is hop on hop off. very convenient
orangery- 3 hours tops. walking around the park is nice and takes time. about an hour and a half eating at the orangery.
madame tussauds- honestly this is all up to you. you can walk through quickly (hour-2 hours) or you can take your time and take a bunch of pics with the wax figures and stuff.
london eye- the ride on the actual wheel is about 30-45 min. plus waiting in line at tickets and to get on. but so worth it. this bypasses actually going to big ben because you get a marvelous view.
tower of london- half day to all day so (3 hr to 6 hour?) again, up to you depending on wanting to go through buildings or walk the grounds and be done.
reasons i discarded other well knows places
westminster abbey- yes, beautiful architecture, yes tons of history. wasn’t a huge part of my trip though. basically you pay money to walk through an indoor royal cemetery.
big ben- this is cool too, but if you go on the london eye, or even just walk along the river thames you get a beautiful view and it is sufficient.
British museum- you learn about all of this in history and think it is so cool, but then you get to the museum and have to rudely push past people to even see something, then it ends up not being as cool as your teacher barked it up to be….
yeah…. hope that helped…
